The city of Nashua is located in Hillsborough County in Southern New Hampshire. With a population of @87k is the second largest city in the state. Located close to the MA border, Nashua is less than an hour’s drive from Boston and has easy access to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and Logan International Airport. It has an historic downtown district, pedestrian-oriented neighborhoods, many parks, and good schools. There are many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, including the Nashua River Rail Trail, a 17 mile bike path that runs to the heart of the city. Neighboring towns Amherst, Bedford and Hollis are also part of this booming southern New Hampshire area. Each town has its own unique character. Bedford, the largest, is a suburb of Manchester. It is an upscale residential town with good transport links to Boston in the south and the Lakes Region and White Mountains to the north. Major retailers such as Macy’s, Target and Lowe’s are located in Bedford. Amherst is a rural-suburban town with a strong community feel. It is home to Baboosic Lake, popular for swimming in the summer and skating in the winter. Hollis is a small bedroom community on the Massachusetts border. The town’s farming roots are celebrated with the Strawberry Festival in June and the Apple Festival in October. Old Home Days is an annual celebration in September, with rides, a parade, fireworks and live music.
