Honor And Give Thanks At These Veterans Day Events Near You

Solider Saluting American Flag

Monday, November 11th is Veterans Day, when we give thanks for those who served and continue to serve our country.  If you want to pay your respects and show your appreciation, there are several events happening around our towns.

Winchester’s Veterans Day Parade steps off on Monday 11/11 at 10:15 am from Winchester High School and follows a route through town before ending at Town Hall.  There will be civic exercises and the public are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Arlington Veterans Day ceremony begins at 10:30 am from Adams St / Mass Ave and ends with placing of the wreaths in Monument Square. All are welcome.

In Woburn, Veterans will gather for the parade, which will pass from Woburn Central Square to Woburn Common where there will be a ceremony at 11 am.

Stoneham’s Veterans Day Ceremony begins at 10:30 am on the Town Common and is followed by a Memorial Run / Walk Road Race.  Both a 5K and an  11K race will begin directly after the ceremony as a way for community members to honor and support Veterans and their families.  All proceeds go to The Skate for the 22 Foundation and the Stoneham Veterans Assistance Fund.

In addition, the first annual Run for our Heroes takes place on Sunday, November 10th in Winchester.  This 5k route is family-friendly, so bring your strollers and walk or run to raise funds for Stop Soldier Suicide (stopsoldiersuicide.org)

All of these parades and events are rain or shine, so please dress for the weather!
