Halloween festivities begin early in Winchester and Woburn with two big events to kick off the spooky celebrations this weekend! On Saturday, October 26th, FAN and the Winchester Recreation Department host their annual Halloween Horribles Parade and Party. Beginning at 10am, children (and adults!) in costume parade from the Town Hall to the Common and then visit local stores for Trick or Treating. Our office at 48 Mount Vernon Street will be welcoming visitors to our “Happy Haunted House” to collect candy and enter a draw to win gift cards to Catch a Falling Star and Sweet SurpriZe. Join us between 10am and 11:30am, before heading to the party in the Town Hall to enjoy crafts, games and live music.
On Sunday, October 27th the Woburn Host Lions hold their annual Halloween Parade. A Woburn tradition for 65 years, the Parade is one of the oldest and biggest in New England and this year welcomes 20 bands and 90 floats. Over 80,000 people will line the 2+ mile parade route as it proceeds from Showcase Cinemas along Main Street to Woburn Center and then onto Lake Ave at the Winchester line before ending at Horn Pond. Bring your ghosts, pirates, princesses and superheroes and cheer on the marching bands and the floats collecting money for the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund. The parade starts at 1pm, rain or shine, and lasts approx. 1.5 hours – get there early to grab your curbside seats! This year, Waterfield Sotheby’s International Realty are proud sponsors of the James L McKeown Boys and Girls Club of Woburn– look out for our float!
We hope to see you at one of these fun events this weekend!
