Marathon Running Realtor Takes On Next Challenge

    Ides Figueiredo

We are proud to announce that Ides Figueiredo will be running the Chicago Marathon this fall, raising funds and awareness for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Ides is no stranger to long-distance running, having tackled the Boston marathon twice already, plus the New York, San Diego and Marine Corps marathons.  She enjoys running with friends and her dog around her hometown of Medford and the surrounding area.  "Running helps me clear my mind and gives me time to think", says Ides.  "I am lucky to live in an area with such beautiful running routes, such as around Mystic Lakes in Medford, the Minuteman bike path through Lexington and Arlington, or along the Charles River in Cambridge."

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society works to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Donations help fund new ground-breaking treatments like immunotherapies that use a person's own immune system to kill cancer.

If you would like to donate and support her fundraising, go to https://pages.lls.org/tnt/ma/chicago19/IFigueiredo

Good luck Ides from your Waterfield Sotheby's International Realty family!

Winchester's Concerts on the Common – Karen K and The Jitterbugs

      Karen K and the Jitterbugs

One of the best things about a New England summer is the number of outdoor events that are hosted in our local towns.  From outdoor movies in Woburn to pop-up beer gardens in Arlington and concerts in Medford, there is always something to do with the family to make the most of the warm summer evenings.

One of our favorite events is the series of concerts on Winchester’s beautiful common.  Located in the center of town, it’s the perfect venue to pack a picnic and a blanket and enjoy music or entertainment for all ages.  This week, we are proud to be sponsoring the Karen K and The Jitterbugs concert on Tuesday evening.  Hugely popular with families all across the Boston area and beyond, they are known for their catchy songs that appeal to kids and adults alike.  They won national recognition with a Parent’s Choice Award and their YouTube hit video “(I Woke Up in a) Fire Truck”.

So join us on Tuesday, August 13th at 6:30pm to “Bug Out” with Karen K and her imaginary friends – Stinky, Bumble, Hop and Slug Bug – the Jitterbugs!  We’ll be handing out popcorn, courtesy of Showcase Cinemas, Woburn, and have a free water refill station.  See you there!
