Local Places to Celebrate Fourth of July

Independence Day celebrations are right around the corner, and while most people know about the spectacular Boston Pops Concert and Fireworks, there are other ways to mark the day right on our doorstep.

Wakefield holds the largest 4th of July parade in Massachusetts, and it's also the 2nd largest parade in New England, and the 5th largest in the US.  Find out more about the event here.

The Lexington Lions host a 4th of July Carnival every year, which actually runs from July 2nd - 6th.  Click here for full details.

If you are up for traveling a little further, but don't want to head into the city, Marblehead's Fireworks and Harbor Illuminations are definitely worth a visit.

But if it's Boston or nothing, click here for a guide to the best spots to watch the fireworks whilst avoiding the crowds!
