First settled in 1640, Woburn is now a city of 38,000 people with 13 square miles of area. It is located 11 miles north of Boston at the axis of Interstate 93 and Route 128. Woburn is the fourth largest job market along the Route 95/128 belt and enjoys a healthy commercial revenue base which helps to sustain a low residential tax rate.
Woburn today is a mix of quiet residential neighborhoods, vibrant office and industrial parks, and wooded conservation areas, such as the Horn Pond Reservation, Forest Park and Shaker Glen. Rich in history and diversity, Woburn recently and proudly opened the brand new Woburn Memorial High School.
